Hurricane Ike

Well, we thought we were going to be spaired from Hurricane Ike, but as you can see we were not. This is a picture of two large oaks that fell on the house across the street from ours. It hit the side of our neighbor's home. The house next door to this one also had a tree fall on the front of the house. Luckily no one was hurt. We had a pleasant surprise from this storm, my Mom, Pop, Melissa, Aidan and Emalie came and stayed for a week long visit. Here are some pics from the visit.
Aidan and I practicing our shooting. Uncle Drew we might be ready to take our first one down this year. Well, maybe a few more years.
This picture to me embodies the bond between Mother and daughter.
Do you like my mohawk?
This picture is too funny. We have the same photo of Aidan doing the same thing with his hands. They both sleep with their hands behind their heads.
Pick-a-boo
Emalie has started smiling and teething.

This is my favorite picture of Mom and Emalie.
I caught this picture while we were riding in Mel's car the other day. Emalie was not feeling well due to her teething. Aidan without saying a word, reached over a held her hand. She stopped crying, but I had tears in my eyes. Aidan has such a kind, soft heart.
Aidan has learned to do so many new things. He is more daring and brave with each day. We went to the park across the street and played and played.
And went for a hang.
Went exploring.
And finished with a swing.

Emalie is sitting up, sort of. A few pillows and voila, sitting up like a big girl.
Monkeying around at dinner.

Pop celebrated his 58th birthday during the storm. Aidan was a big help in opening his gifts. Happy birthday Pop. We love you.

Ice cream, yummy yummy.

Gay and Roger had the Lovoi's over for pizza and drinks for the Cowboy game. We had a great time. It was so nice to visit with the family. We just wish it was under different circumstances, but we are all doing well and did not sustain much damage.
