Well, yesterday was the big day. After 2 months of double ear infections we were finally able to give Luke tubes. The doctors mentioned the fluid buildup in his ears has caused delayed speech. Poor little guy has not been able to hear us too well for almost two months. This makes total sense as he really only speaks gibberish since Christmas. This photo is a little rough, but it was taken with the doctor's polariod camera. Thank you Dr. Neumann for all you have done for our little guy.
It was an early call getting to the doctor's office, but the bottle at 11:30pm the night before was definitely a great idea. Luke was sounds asleep during the late feeding, but he was a champ waiting for his turn with very little food on his stomach. The late night feeding brought back memories of this time last year.
Thought this was too cute! Look it is an infant snuggie! The procedure went really well and very quick, but the waking up from anesthesia did not go so well. Drew and I were talking with the doctor when we heard this horrific scream and then crying. I knew right away that was my baby. The staff had warned us the littles one wake up very disoriented and not happy. Well, Luke delivered on that! It took us a little while, but he finally calmed down once he was resting comfortably in his car seat. Dr. Neumann said that he should feel instantly better as he had a pretty bad double ear infection with quite a bit of fluid buildup. Well, that is the truth. Fluid was still draining form his ears this morning. I cannot even begin to think of what that was like having that all trapped in your ears!
We made it home and took the rest of the day to get use to the new tubes. I treated Luke to one of my favorite snacks - Double Stuff Oreos. I will let the pictures speak for themselves. He is Momma's boy for sure.
A little tired before his 2 hour 45 minute nap.
Taddy and Grandpa Lovoi sent a balloon bouquet. Luke loved them. This is also one of his new tricks. Standing up on his own with no support.
Well he made it through the day with flying colors. Hopefully, Luke will be able to get passed the ear infections and start enjoying his new freedom, walking and talking! We cannot wait to hear your voice sweet baby boy.
